WHAT’S YOUR JOB ROLE ABOUT?

The DevOps Team is focused on improving the telemetry around and availability of Abacus’ product offerings, while also contributing to the sustainability of engineering practice throughout the organization. As the “engineers behind the engineers,” we are responsible for a diverse set of tasks from across the DevOps spectrum. We work in a wide range of contexts, using a breadth of tools and technologies, to remove obstacles and keep the rest of the engineering organization moving as efficiently and effectively as possible. We are a small, nimble team making an outsized impact.

AS A DEVOPS ENGINEER II YOU WILL

  • Support and manage Abacus’ deployment process and tooling
  • Sustain and improve the deployment and operations of third-party vendor applications
  • Maintain and build upon our custom first-party deployment infrastructure and tooling with an eye towards continuous delivery
  • Provide support to the rest of engineering as related to CI pipelines, builds, and deployments
  • Actively build, test, and deploy Abacus’ Next Generation solution
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to frameworks and processes which cut across the engineering organization

AS A LEADING CANDIDATE, YOU HAVE

  • 5+ years of development experience
  • Deep cloud experience, AWS preferred
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking
  • Experience with an industry-standard CI/CD platform such as:
    • GitLab
    • Concourse
    • Jenkins
    • Travis CI
  • Working knowledge of containerization, specifically Docker and Kubernetes
  • Fluent command of the tools of the trade, including:
    • Bash
    • Python
    • Terraform
  • Comfort being successful in unfamiliar environments
  • A keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A team-first attitude, always looking to improve yourself and those around you
